The Altar of Incense: The Prayer of Worship

Invitations come in many forms. Sometimes they are very formal, while others may be casual in nature. Some are open-ended, while others ask us to RSVP. How would you react, what would you do, if the invitation came from a king?

On Palm Sunday, Jesus rode slowly down the road that descended from the Mount of Olives to the gates of Jerusalem. The crowds shouted, “Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” It was “Lamb Selection Sunday,” the day all of Israel chose their Passover Lamb.

In the Tabernacle Moses was building, we see the story of Jesus (1400 years before Christ came) pointing us to the grace God would show in the life of His Son. The importance of the Altar of Incense rests on who Jesus is and what He came to do and still does, even now.
